The Last Caravan
Three generations of a Bedouin family cross the desert one last time before a highway swallows their ancient route.
About the film
Over eighteen months we followed the Al-Hammadi family on their final seasonal migration across the Empty Quarter. The film documents a centuries-old route being erased under asphalt, and asks what remains of memory when the place that made it disappears. Shot entirely with small crews and natural light, woven with rare family archive from the 1960s.
